Japanese DS owners to get legal microSD peripheral

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

According to Nintendo, the Japanese market will soon be getting a full licensed DS cartridge that will accept microSD memory cards, allowing for the legal viewing of video, images, music and texts on the handheld.

The cartridge, dubbed the DSvision will be the same size as a normal DS game and fit into Slot-1 of the DS or DS Lite. Users will also have the ability to use a download service to download TV shows and e-books.

The DSvision will come packaged with the cartridge, a 512 MB microSD card, and a microSD-to-USB adapter for the relatively cheap price of 3,980 yen ($36 USD). There are already tons of devices like the DSvision, but none are licensed by Nintendo because they make pirating of DS games very easy.

“We are keeping a close eye on the products and studying them. But we cannot smash all of them,”
a Nintendo spokesman said, referring to the R4 and M3 cards currently sold.

To be honest however, I feel like this will just give people a legal alternative to begin pirating with but at least Nintendo will get the money for the DSvision itself. If you cant beat ‘em, join ‘em.

23rd November 2006
I didn’t do much today. I had a few letters one from… Bud another one from Kyle, I got 100 bells because I got stunk yesterday.

Nook and Go was closed today because they are expanding so I couldn’t buy or sell anything.

There was not even a single orange on any of the trees today.

I got stunk twice again. I couldn’t buy any medicine.

While I was walking around I saw a UFO for the first time ever fly pass but I didn’t have my sling shot on me so I couldn’t shoot it down. Maybe next time.

There wasn’t much to do I caught some fish and some flys, they are very hard to catch and gave some to the museum while I was there I had some Java coffee again at the Rooster cafe it was nice and refresing it even tasted better today. Also Brewster offered me a sugar cube but when I said yes I want some he said he cant because hes only got enough for him self. Very Strange.

There was no items in the lost property or in the recycling bin today.

I went to bed because there wasn’t much else to do and I had a very stunk face.

22nd November 2006
I looked at my letters I got one from Mum and one from the HRA, I didn’t do that well again. I also got a letter from Kyle he gave me 100 bells because I got stunk by bees a while back and this was the insurance money.

I talked to Coco it seems she fancys Pete the postman.

I collected and sold lots of sea shells. I found a pearl one that was worth loads.

I meet Pascal for the first time ever. He gave me a ship cannon, I have no idea where he got it from also he told me not to trust Kyle the insurance sales man. A bit too late for that he could of told me after I gave him loads of bells for insurance.

I caught lots of fish in the end I caught more than 60 fish. I sold most of them to Tom Nook and made loads of bells. Poor old Tom Nook he buys anything. I gave he some boots and tyres what I found while I was fishing, he was happy to take them of my hands. I gave some of the fish to some of the villagers and they gave me stuff in return. I caught a Horse Mackerel for Coco she gave me alarm clock in return. Also I gave some fish to the museum.

I had some Java coffee at the Rooster cafe in the museam it cost 200 bells but it woke me up. Brewster the owner of the cafe doesnt say much but he starting to say more to me if I keep on buying coffee most days he might start to talk more to me. The coffe didnt taste that great thought.

I caught some Monarch butterflies with my net. Blathers told me that they are named after the king of England he was called the King of Orange and because the butterfly’s orange they named them after him. Blatters was scared of it like always. I also caught some locusts with my net.

Its really funny seeing locusts killing themselves by running into the rivers because I’m running after them with a net trying to catch them lol.

I gave some of the insects to the museum.

A new person moved into town a duck called Freckles a cool character I think its a female duck. She likes the mornings. Some of the other characters in my town Bud and some other one similar to him are really annoying. Bud said he was moving because he had to do some sit up tournament or something but I convinced him to stay I guess I should of let him go and hopefully got a better character instead but I didn’t I convinced him to stay.

I haven’t played this game for about 2 months so when I went in my house there was lots of bugs running around inside, they didn’t last long because I killed them all by stepping on them lol.

I visited Nook and Go to see if they had anything good, I ended up buying a few things:

  • Classic Buffet Table,
  • A Men’s Toilet,
  • Enquisite Rug,
  • Alarm Clock,
  • City Scape Wall.

I bought so much that the later on Nook told me the store would be closed tomorrow because they are expanding.

I shaked all the trees and sold all the oranges for a great profit. I got stunk twice while doing this also I found all together about 1000 bells just by shaking the trees also I found some items.

I visited Booker and Copper and got some items from the lost property they don’t mind me having it.

I spent about half a hour cleaning all the weeds from the town. There was so many weeds. But while I was doing that I found two four leaved clovers. Lucky me.

I had done quite a lot and was very tired and had a stunk face so I went to bed.
